Learning English

English is nowadays the most important language in the world and also the most common. Different schools all over the world teach English as a second language, so there are always more and more people speaking it.

I remember when I was a kid and I watched all the things my father used for work, they were all in English (he is a computer engineer), so starting to read those stuffs and recognize they were another language made me curious about it. That was when my dad noticed it and wanted me to learn it but, unfortunately, he had to wait a couple of years because my school taught it since 5th grade.

Learning English became easy for me, I think it was because I already knew German. I enjoyed being one of the good ones in class and also that my classmates asked for my help when they didn’t understand something or wanted an “extra hand” in some test. For my family meant something important too because my parents have always think that languages represent a bonus for my future life.

Today I can say I feel lucky about knowing/learning two languages besides Spanish. I definitely have a lot to improve but I still have time for that. I believe it is important for people to speak English or any other language because it can open several doors for them and it also can be useful for daily things like watching some movie or listening to a song.

That special Holiday

Choosing my best holiday becomes really
difficult for me because I’m more of the idea that each one of them has something memorable. Since I’m forced to talk only about one, I would say my last holidays were remarkable. They were pretty different from others that I’ve had.

Last summer, like we’ve done for the last years, my friends and I went on holiday together. We decided to change the central coast, our common destination, for the fourth region. There we visited the Valle del Elqui, La Serena and Punta de Choros. In the first two places we spent more partying, but in the last one was all about enjoying landscapes and nature and it was my favorite part of the trip.

Punta de Choros and its people have their own mysticism. We lived experiences I didn’t expect like that night when hours ago a couple of craftswomen told us there would be full moon and we should get us to the sea to renew energies, and we did it. Or the time we found a deserted beach and we had it the whole day just for us. Definitely those twoo weeks were special and unforgettable for me.

Somewhere I'd like to go

I’ve never lived New Year’s Eve away from my parents, but maybe this year it  will be the exception. My friends and I want to go to Ecuador at the end of December and stay for a month or two. It would only be a trip for fun; no work, no stress, no study, no nothing, only relaxing and having fun. One of us went to Ecuador years ago and she loved it, she says the beach was warm, the people were nice and the places were beautiful. She also says that there is everything cheap, so that’s another reason to go because we don’t count with lot of money.

Personally I know there are many Native Ecuadorians and that’s really interesting for me. Their cultures, how they live, the places they built. The nature is another remarkable thing: the fauna in the Amazon region or the plants in the Galápagos Islands. This and other things like the fact of traveling with my friends make me excited for being there.
